I am opening a studio on Main Street in Little Falls called The Knitting Bureau.  Knit, crochet and other fiber arts classes will be offered.  There's an open studio visit between 11 am - 2 pm today, Saturday, February 1, 2104.

Michaels No More

Effective immediately, I am no longer associated with any Michaels as a knit and crochet teacher.

All you need is love and a bit of bravery...

I have to say that what started out as a disaster has turned into one of the best weeks of my life.  Still a very, very disappointing turn of events, I think I've pulled it out of the fire enveloped in lots of love and encouragement.   ​

North Jersey Fiber Arts Festival

The North Jersey Fiber Arts Festival is back.  It will be held at the Unitarian Society of Ridgewood (NJ) on Friday, October 4 from 11 am - 8 pm and Saturday, October 5 from 10 am - 5 pm.  

I am teaching three workshops this year.  Click on the name of the workshop to be linked to a full description.

Knitting Outdoors, Anyone?

My car was in for it's check up yesterday and is in good health.  However, in this rare moment, my Yarn Mobile is yarn-less.  It sports no Warm Up America blocks, no samples, no patterns, skill sheets or flyers, no bags of "I just had to give it a good home" yarn...for the moment.  Its just a car.  The interior and trunk are vacuumed out and the mats are spot cleaned.  Good thing it is home in my driveway; I might not recognize it in a parking lot. 

Tucked into the trunk now are two outdoor chairs and a small table in anticipation of plein air knitting excursions.  Knit Mobs are just around the corner.  World Wide Knitting in Public Days are on my mind.  Its time to knit in the sunshine.  In the kitchen, I'm queuing up the some projects to restock my wheels...yarn-less it will be for just a short time more.

Hand Manipulated Machine Knitting Workshop

Update:  The workshop exceeded expectations and now I've got a head full of new knowledge and inspiration.  Thank you to Rapid Rows Machine Knitters hosting this outstanding event!

Happy Pi Day!

I'm looking forward to the two day Rapid Rows Machine Knitter's Guild of Central New Jersey workshop coming up tomorrow and Saturday...Hand Manipulated Machine Knitting with Susan Guagliumi.  A day of lecture and a day of swatching on our machines.  Yippee!  I'm gonna have a good time.

Stay and take a Discover TIME class from 4 - 6:30 pm.  I can show you how use dish cloths to expand your knowledge of knit stitch patterns and then transform them into a blanket or handbag.  Bring your own projects also welcome.  The 2 1/2 hour class is $25.00.

We will cover gauge, fit, knitting the garment and finishing.
 Or each knitter can work at their own pace on projects of their own choosing.

In each class there will be group presentations or activities 

and individual students will receive coaching on their projects.

Activities and support are provided between classes.

Preregistration is required. 

Eight week classes is $120.00 is payable to the instructor only.
The fee covers all instruction and a room use donation.
